As President and Vice President of the Hamilton Naturalists' Club Board of Directors, Rachel and Jackson will offer valuable insights into mobilizing communities to safeguard biodiversity in urban environments. From sharing anecdotes of their journey to discussing actionable steps for rewilding local ecosystems, Rachel and Jackson will demonstrate the power of grassroots activism and the importance of forging connections in the pursuit of a greener, more resilient future.
Rachel's Bio:
Rachel Jones is a dedicated conservationist and communication specialist based in Dundas, Ontario. By day, she educates Canadians about aquatic species at risk with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. In her free time, she volunteers as President of the Hamilton Naturalists' Club Board of Directors and hosts her own monthly rock and roll radio program, Jones Garage, on 93.3 CFMU FM. Rachel uses community engagement to bridge the gap between people and nature, promoting inclusivity and accessibility for all.
Jackson's Bio:
Jackson Hudecki has been rooted in the Environmental Science community since his youth. Following his graduation from Fleming College, he gained valuable experience at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park before establishing his current role as Partnerships Officer in the Business Development department at Royal Botanical Gardens. A proud "nature nerd", Jackson's passion for birding and community outreach led him to the Hamilton Naturalists' Club, where he volunteers as Vice President on the Board of Directors.
