District New Music Coalition is ecstatic to announce our fourth annual conference, New Music DC 2021, which will occur in-person at George Washington University on October 2-3! It has been a trying year+ for the world, and after months of virtual performances, we are thrilled to finally help bring live music and events back to the DC area!

What to Expect During This Year’s Conference

• Spotlight concert by Great Noise Ensemble
• Live Music! Local compositions by DC-area composers and performances by DC-area performers chosen from DNMC’s call for submissions
• Panels, Presentations, and Lecture-Recitals by DC-area musicians chosen from DNMC’s call for submissions
• Networking opportunities including our yearly New Music Speed Dating (Bring scores, business cards, and downloaded audio samples on your phone/tablet/laptop!)
• Town Hall Meeting to discuss opportunities and challenges present in DC’s contemporary music scene

Covid Protocols (please read BEFORE registering)

For the safety of individuals, the community, and to be in compliance with George Washington University’s stated Covid policies, it is required for all attendees to follow these guidelines (no exceptions will be made).

• Masks are required at all times while indoors
• We are joining other music groups in the Washington, DC area by requiring one of the following before being admitted into the conference:
• Proof of vaccination, or
• Proof of valid approved exemption and a negative Covid test within 72 hours of the conference
