Cyber Security and introduction to Cyber Choices - UK School Staff
Multiple dates and times
Online, Microsoft Teams
Description
Only 45% of schools train non-IT staff in cyber security - lets improve that!
School staff are always busy and unfortunately this is one of the reasons the sector is targeted by cyber criminals. Statistics from Cyber security breaches survey show that UK schools are more likely to have identified a breach or cyber attack in the last 12 months than a business.
Phishing is the most prevalent attack type against UK schools, followed by impersonation attempts. Most schools (92%) would welcome more cyber security awareness training for staff.
This short webinar is designed to highlight basic cyber security advice that will help individual members of school staff improve their personal cyber security and by extension that of their school.
The session will :
- Highlight current trends and provide actionable steps that attendees can take.
- Highlight nationally approved resources like those created for the education sector by the National Cyber Security Centre.
- Introduce the National Crime Agency's Cyber Choices Programme.
- Highlight free local Police resources that can support the school further in this area.
Please note that this event is designed for UK teaching / schools staff (including DSL's, and senior management) content and resources highlighted may not be available outside the UK. It is recommended that senior management / leadership staff and governors complete this training before attending one of our cyber risk sessions.
