Join Sarah Wise, author and social historian, talking about the life of Charles Booth, who gave so much to Thringstone and the surrounding area, including giving our village its community centre, the first in the country.  You will also learn how much he gave to the country as a whole through his work highlighting the effects of poverty in England.   This is a free event, but donations on the day would be welcome.
