Frank Matcham was one of Britain's most famous theatre designers yet you may never have heard of him. He was described by some as the Christopher Wren of the art world.
Over 100 years since his death, Matcham’s theatres and other buildings still shine as awe inspiring venues, but when he took over his father-in-law's business he had no formal architectural qualifications and was regarded as a hack by his contemporaries.
Join me on this talk to discover the man, the life and work of Frank Matcham and visit some of his very special creations in Yorkshire.
I am a Yorkshire Blue Badge Guide and whilst I can't currently get out and about in this beautiful county, I am happy to bring a little slice of Yorkshire and history direct to you in the comfort of your home.
