Explore Stroud Green's most notable trees - with tree author Paul Wood.
Join us on a fascinating exploration of the street trees around Stroud Green (Haringey, N4) with London tree author Paul Wood to help raise money for tree campaign group: Haringey Tree Protectors. This will include visiting a wonderful 120-year-old London Plane - which our group has saved from felling twice and we have been camping out in since April!
Paul will lead a circular tour starting and finishing outside the pretty Stroud Green and Harringay Library. The walk will be a chance to see some exceptional avenues of London planes, at least two noteworthy individual trees, a remarkable secret oak tree and the locally loved but threatened, Oakfield Road Plane, as well as more recently planted trees. Paul will discuss how diverse influences have shaped the urban forest in north London and further afield, including changing fashions and the changing climate.
