Heartbreak Productions invites young performers aged 7-11 to join our fun-filled, high-energy Summer School from 13th-15th August at North Hall, Leamington Spa. This three day summer school will be led by Actor and Primary School Teacher and friend of Heartbreak, Alex Varey!

Each day of our summer school will focus on a different theme and will explore script work, creating exciting characters and working as a team to create performances to be proud of. The young people will use their imagination and creativity skills to work across texts including Shakespeare and Classic children’s authors and spend a day devising a performance, which they will then share with you! 

Heartbreak has 15 years of experience running children’s performance classes and workshops and helping young people to build confidence and communication skills through theatre. Our summer school will be crammed full of games, acting exercises, laughter, and plenty of breaks for snacks and lunch. We hope your young person will join us for these fun-filled, uplifting few days.

Day 1 - Tuesday 13th Aug 10-3pm: “Classics Day”

We’ll explore extracts of a much-loved classic text and create unique characters that live inside that world.

Day 2 – Wednesday 14th Aug 10-3pm: “Shakespeare Day”

Working as a team, we’ll create both the landscape and soundscape for the exciting world of The Tempest.

Day 3 – Thursday 15th Aug 10-3pm: “Devising Day” + sharing for Family and Friends

On our final day, we’ll produce an original piece of theatre on a topic chosen by the young people on an issue that means something to them. (We’ll also rehearse the other pieces of work we’re sharing at 2.30pm)

£90 / £80 with a sibling discount (available when purchasing at least 2 tickets)

Wraparound care is available from 9-10 am and 3-4 pm on each day for an additional cost of £5 per hour - and is subject to availability. Please see available dates/times and add the relevant ticket to your basket. Wraparound care will be lead by our Heartbreak team and will involve drama games, crafts, musical mayhem and more!
