The universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews have been awarded £3m by Wellcome, to create a new framework for research leadership – InFrame – recognising that a skilled collegial approach to leadership is critical for the development of supportive and equitable cultures, and foundational to the aspirations set out in our research culture action plans.

Our collaboration aims to address the paucity of systematic knowledge on how collegiality can be fostered, recognised and rewarded. It also aims to expand the definition of who can be viewed as a research leader to a wider set of role types, and individuals in the research ecosystem.

£1m project funding available to colleagues across the partner institutions

Come along to this event to hear from Dr Kay Guccione, Head of Research Culture & Researcher Development at the University of Glasgow, who will outline the InFrame project, its objectives and opportunities for all those who support research across the 3 institutions, at all levels, to get involved.

Dr Sara Shinton, Director of Future Leader Fellows Development Network, Institute for Academic Development, will explain how a new Community Knowledge Hub will support and develop our new leaders and identify the coherence and common issues across their diverse projects through a common evaluation strategy.

We will then hear from Catherine Burns, Executive Director of Research Support Services at the University of St Andrews, who is leading on the Research Culture Catalyst Fund. She will explain the purpose of the fund, key themes the fund will explore and how anyone from any institution, at any level can be a part of making a difference to the research culture landscape as it currently stands.

Attendees will have the opportunity to apply for the Culture Catalyst Fund and what support is available to those who are awarded funding.
