IMPORTANT: Tickets are not needed if you are booking a room at the hotel (see further down). Tickets are only meant for day visitors.

Meeples’ Corner and The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel are delighted to confirm that we will be running the Devon Board Game Weekend again in 2024. We have blocked the hotel for the dates 23, 24, and 25 February 2024 and hope that you will be able to join us again for a fun weekend of games.

The event will run from 3pm Friday 23 February until 3pm Sunday 25 February. It will be open to anyone who loves board games, whether you just want to pop in for an afternoon or spend the whole weekend with us. We hope to have 50-75 people of all ages and experience at the event with an opportunity to play your favourite games and maybe learn some new ones. So far we haven’t put too much structure around the days, keeping it fun and informal, with people finding groups to play their favourite games. Ahead of the event, we have an online discussion group to chat with others who are thinking of attending, discuss games, and perhaps add a bit more shape to the event.

ABOUT THE HOTEL
The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel is a 3-star country hotel in mid-Devon, halfway between Exeter and Barnstaple. The hotel sits on 6 acres of grounds on the beautiful River Taw and is known for being very dog-friendly.

We have a lovely large log fire in our licensed bar area and serve coffee as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have 22 rooms with a wide selection of room types and bed configurations, from single rooms to suites, as well as a luxury treehouse. 

We are situated just a few minutes walk from Eggesford train station which is 40 minutes from Exeter St Davids, so we’re easy to reach for anyone who would prefer to leave the car at home.

TICKETS AND ROOMS AT THE HOTEL

The hotel has 22 rooms available for visitors who want to stay the whole weekend. You can find the booking page for the rooms here. But we also welcome day visitors, the tickets are available to book on this page.

We offer single tickets for Friday or Saturday (the two main days of the event) or a weekend ticket for all three days if you also want to come in for a lazy Sunday morning and play some games. The event on Sunday ends at 3 pm.

CHILDREN AND YOUR BEST FRIENDS

Children are very welcome at the event and are free to join if they are 12 or under. We will have a selection of very good family games available, so everybody can join in.
