The 2024 Festival opens in style, with a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the death of Dublin native and celebrated composer Charles Villiers Stanford, featuring one of his greatest works, the profound and beautiful Stabat Mater. Percy Whitlock’s Symphony for Organ and Orchestra completes the progamme. This hidden gem of the repertoire receives its first performance in Ireland, with renowned organist Daniel Moult taking the demanding solo part. A stellar group of vocal soloists joins the Festival Chorus and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra under the baton of Artistic Director David Leigh, all in the beautiful surroundings of the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Adam and Eve’s), Merchants’ Quay.
