Join us for the 2022 HAARP Open House in Gakona, Alaska! The University of Alaska Fairbanks is providing the public with an opportunity to experience this world-class scientific research facility firsthand. Come learn about the ways this facility helps us understand more about Earth, the Sun, and our atmosphere!

Please note that space is limited; video tours will be available on the HAARP website at a later date for those who are unable to attend in-person. Further note that the Friday time slot is for UAF internal participants only; all Saturday time slots are open to the general public.

COVID-19 Policy

• Masks are required for all visitors to the facility when indoors, and outdoors whenever six feet of distance cannot be maintained
• Your risk of contracting COVID-19 may increase by visiting the facility
  or any other public place. By visiting the HAARP facility, you
  voluntarily assume all risks related to COVID-19 exposure.
• You must abide by all instructions when visiting HAARP, as well as any
  instructions provided by staff during your visit. If you fail to follow
  UAF instructions, you may be denied entry or required to leave the
  premises.

Ticketing & Entry Policy

• Self-guided, timed-entry admission to the site is free
• Tickets must be reserved online
• Tickets are limited, and are not available at the gate
• Vehicles are restricted to a maximum length of 36 feet, maximum width of 9 feet, and maximum height of 10 feet
  
• Reservations are for 90-minute blocks starting at 9 am, with the final block starting at 1:30 pm
• No new visitors will be allowed on site after 2:00 pm
