About This Event 

An Evening Uncovered is a virtual fundraiser raising funds to support military veterans, hosted by Gyles Brandreth and featuring:

  • Special Guest Appearances by:
    • Award-winning actress Virginia McKenna, who appeared in the film Waterloo
    • Historian and broadcaster, Peter Snow
  • Raffle prizes and a Bonhams online auction
  • A free Vimeo screening of the epic 1970 film Waterloo

Book now to join us for a unique opportunity to hear Gyles in conversation with star of the stage and screen Virginia McKenna AND world-renowned historian and broadcaster Peter Snow, an expert on all things Waterloo.

Gyles will be kicking things off at 7PM and then speaking to Virginia McKenna and Peter Snow before the film starts at 7.30PM.

If you prefer to make a donation but cannot attend the event on the 26th you will still need to register for a free ticket. There is no obligation to tune in on the 26th, but registering ensures we are able to thank you for your donation!

FAQS

1. Is the food in the meal boxes ready to eat or do I have to cook?

All the hard work is done for you, you just need to add the final touches and pop it in the oven! All of the meal components are packed separately and are prepared as much as possible beforehand by the chefs at Adam Handling. All dishes come with recipe cards, with QR codes that link to a step-by-step video of Adam finishing and plating the dishes.  

2. When will I receive my meal box delivery? 

All orders will arrive by 12 pm on Friday the 26th. The Adam Handing arrange delivery with a courier who will be in touch with you to ensure a smooth delivery! 

3.  How does a YouTube Private Stream work?

If you've registered for the event you will receive an email on the 26th with a link and code to join a private YouTube channel. You don't need to install any software but you do need to have a computer, TV, tablet, or smart TV and an internet connection. 

Don't worry, we cannot see you! You just see us!

4. How does the Bonhams online auction work? 

The online auction will be live on Bonhams website from the 24th of February to the 5th March. In order to bid you must register with Bonhams, which can be done by following this link: Bonhams Registration.  To visit the auction click HERE. To download the auction brochure click HERE. 

5. Do I have to attend the event to participate in the raffle or auction?

No.

If you simply want to bid on the auction please follow the instructions to Register with Bonhams (FAQ #4), the auction will appear on the Bonhams website and will be open for bidding on the 24th of February and will close on the 1st of March at midday. 

If you want to buy raffle tickets, order a meal box, or make a donation you will need to register for the event, but tickets are free and there is no obligation to watch any of the entertainment or the film. If you've purchased raffle tickets, winners will be announced after the film, around 10pm on the 26th. We will also post these on our website after the event in case you missed it!

We hope you can join us for the full evening on the 26th, but if not please don't let this stop you joining in whatever way you want! 

6. Can I make a donation without registering for the event on the 26th? 

If you would like to make a donation but cannot attend the event on the 26th you will still need to register for a free ticket. There is no obligation to tune in on the 26th, but registering ensures we are able to thank you for your donation!
