Aoibhe Ni will take you gently through all the techniques you'll need to make Tunisian Crochet using her beginner mini-shawl pattern, "Love Grows". This shawl will teach you Tunisian Simple Stitch, a Short Row technique, as well as picking up stitches, and a gorgeous lace eyelet.

What you learn in class will ensure you can complete your shawl with absolute confidence and carry on to create many more beautiful pieces besides.



SKILL LEVEL:

A little knowledge of traditional crochet is required for this class. A familiarity with double crochet stitches is all that's needed.

MATERIALS:

Full notes and a copy of the Love Grows pattern will be provided during the workshop, but a 6 mm hook (a short hook is perfect, but please ensure it's one without an ergonomic handle), an elastic band, and a wound skein of your chosen 4-ply/fingering weight yarn will be needed.

Aoibhe recommends avoiding fluffy or dark-toned yarns for this first foray.

PREPARATION:

Students are asked to come to class with a small piece of traditional crochet complete already as this will form the basis of your first lesson in
Tunisian Crochet. 15 double crochet stitches worked over several rows will be more than enough.
