Returning to the Grand Pavilion for our opening event, we have a programme of beautiful English music for string orchestra featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams breathtaking, The Lark Ascending.  Vaughan Williams’ exquisite romance depicts the eponymous songbird rising above the English landscape and effortlessly emitting his ‘silver chain of sound’.  The concert also includes works by Edward Elgar, Benjamin Britten and Gustav Holst.
