This may be our first year at Opryland, but it won't be our first prom. We've held proms at EPIC Event Centre in Gallatin and in the reception hall at Millersville Community Center, and our outdoor prom at Triple Creek Park in Gallatin had >100 attendees! Trust us when we say that this will be the Nashville area homeschool prom your teen(s) won't want to miss!

Pricing

The standard ticket price is $75, but we offer the following discounts:

1. First five (5) tickets: $45 each until November 30th or sellout (whichever comes first) using code TIER1
2. Next ten (10) tickets: $55 each until December 15th or sellout (whichever comes first) using code TIER2
3. Next fifteen (15) tickets: $65 each until December 31st or sellout (whichever comes first) using code TIER3

As we explain on our public Facebook Page and our dedicated prom webpage, these ticket prices won't even cover our tax-free cost of just being there.  We're counting on everyone to participate in and promote certain free and effortless fundraisers to keep this an affordable annual event.  Upon completion of your ticket purchase, you'll be re-directed to a detailed walk-thru that will set you up for success with these programs within just a few minutes.  It's a one-and-done type thing, and we think you'll appreciate our incentives!

We have a limited number of adult tickets available for parents who are interested in volunteering in exchange for STEEP rebates -- most likely bringing the ticket price down to just our tax-free food cost (depending on service roles). Our professional photographer will be capturing candid photos throughout the evening, and digital files of these images will be provided to everyone in attendance. If you wish to purchase professionally lighted and edited posed formal portraits captured on our themed backdrop, they're priced at just $10 per pose (whether individual, couple, or group) or $25 for three (3) poses. Food

The dinner menu below reflects the top choices (by simple majority) of our survey respondents.  The ticket purchase form allows you to indicate any food allergies.  Marriott (Gaylord Opryland Hotel) will do everything in their power to accommodate any special dietary needs.

Seating

You must select an available seat from the seating chart when you purchase your ticket. If you're part of a group all wanting to sit together, we strongly encourage everyone in the group to decide on their preferred seats in advance and purchase their tickets simultaneously. As a courtesy to accommodate those who may not be able to purchase concurrently with the rest of their group, we're able to hold a limited number of seats for a limited amount of time. Once a seat has been selected, it can't be changed. However, you can indicate on your ticket purchase form that if the table you selected is nearly empty when ticket sales close that you wish to be swapped to a seat that fills or nearly fills another table with available seats still remaining when ticket sales close.  You can also indicate any people that you'd want to move with you if we find that we need to shift seats around to fill tables.  

Policies

Dress Code

If you have any doubts that your gown is in compliance, you may submit (via e-mail or Facebook message) front, sides, and back photos of yourself in the gown for approval. If we approve in writing, you're guaranteed not to face any wardrobe challenges on prom night. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPTION! If you show up in a gown that's not in compliance, your choices are:

1. Add a CHESS-provided tube top or tights as required to become compliant.
2. Leave and return in a compliant gown or with an alteration to or accessory for the non-compliant gown that brings it into compliance and will remain in place throughout the entire event.*
3. Forfeit your right to attend.

Code of Conduct

Respectful and courteous behavior is expected and required. We require all participants — both students and adults — to conduct themselves in a proper and decorous manner. Participants are expected to treat each other with courtesy and respect at all times.

Keep social media posts respectful. Avoid threats, bullying, sexting, or other inappropriate social media posts. These are a violation of our code of conduct and may prevent you from attending prom.

Avoid public displays of affection.  Holding hands is allowed. However, kissing of any kind is strictly prohibited, as is sitting in another person’s lap.

Keep dancing clean.  Dancing with a lady’s hands on a gentleman’s shoulders and a gentleman’s hands on a lady’s waist is acceptable. Avoid body-against-body dancing and movements that could be considered provocative such as groping or twerking. Moshing and body-surfing are strictly prohibited. 

NO: foul language, vandalism, gum, tobacco, vaping, alcohol, or narcotics.

Code of Conduct violations — including disrespectful, destructive, or violent behavior — may result in expulsion from the event. CHESS reserves the right to respond to any violation by prohibiting the violator(s) from attending any future prom-related events, including prom itself.

Other Policies

Be certain to bring whatever you think you might need into the building with you.  (CHESS reserves the right to search bags.)

The ballroom doors lock automatically.  Anyone caught holding or otherwise propping a door open will be forced to immediately vacate the premises. (CHESS will notify the parent/guardian on file.) 

Our door monitors will set a 10-minute timer for any student needing to use the nearest hotel restroom.  If the student hasn’t returned to the ballroom before the timer goes off, s/he won’t be readmitted to prom, and we’ll notify the parent/guardian on file. 

Refunds

ALL TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.** If you purchase a ticket and for whatever reason are unable to attend, we'll do our best to assist you with reselling your ticket to the first person on our waitlist if necessary.

Deadline

Our final headcount is due to Marriott 72 hours before the event -- 6:00pm on Wednesday, April 26th -- and there's no wiggle room whatsoever. PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY MESSAGES ASKING US IF WE CAN SQUEEZE YOU IN. Things get crazy busy at that point, with lots of communications back and forth between and among venue and vendors. If you find yourself in need of a ticket after the deadline, joining the waitlist is honestly your best bet. We'll be checking it regularly and contacting people on a first come first served basis.

*We cannot overemphasize the importance that any alteration or accessory remains in place throughout the entire event. We will only issue a single wardrobe-related warning per attendee -- the warning received at the door. This means that if, for example, a shawl is removed or a tube top or biker shorts repeatedly shift up or down inappropriately, you will be immediately ejected from the event. If you require a CHESS-provided tube top, T-shirt, and/or biker shorts, the item(s) must be returned before you leave.

**This is a private event during which no one apart from our ticketholders, volunteers, and vendors will be inside the ballroom. CHESS will not require masks, testing, or proof of vaccination under any circumstances, and we have no reason to assume that Marriott's Gaylord Opryland Hotel will require any of those things. But in the interest of full disclosure, if Marriott's Gaylord Opryland Hotel should require testing and/or proof of vaccination, CHESS will cancel the event and refund all ticket purchases in full. However, CHESS will neither cancel the event nor issue any refunds if Marriott's Gaylord Opryland Hotel should require face coverings. NO EXCEPTIONS.
