Join the Excitement: The March For Education, Scotland!
Get ready to rally for a brighter future in education! The March For Education, Scotland, is your chance to unite with parents, carers, unions, school staff, parent groups, charities, and the wider school community from across the nation to demand better education for all from our local and national governments.
Mark your calendars for Monday, 24th June!
- 4:30 PM: Meet us on the steps outside The Royal Concert Hall at the top of Buchanan Street.
- 5:15 PM: The march kicks off, winding through Bath Street, Renfield Street, and West George Street, before reaching the City Chambers.
- 6:45 PM: Event concludes after an inspiring lineup of speakers (to be announced).
Timings are an estimation and may differ slightly on the day.
We call on everyone – parents, carers, Parent Councils, school staff, unions, charities, support services, and all members of our education community – to join this powerful movement. Though organised by the Glasgow City Parents Group, this event is open to participants from all over Scotland.
Our key demands for Scottish education include:
- An effective GIRFEC for ALL children.
- Enhanced teacher recruitment and retention.
- Better inclusion practices for Additional Support for Learning.
- Stronger parental engagement nationwide.
- Increased investment in support services.
- or march for what is important to you and your education community.
Your voice matters! Register today to help us plan for safety and numbers. Individuals can sign up independently, and groups should estimate their attendance when booking and ensure they have a steward for safety, especially when marching with children.
Let's make a statement! Bring your banners, wear bright colors, and let our voices be heard! Use the hashtag #MarchForEdScot on social media to spread the word.
If any groups, unions, or charities want their logo featured on our promotional materials, please email a transparent JPEG/PNG file to GCParentsGroup@gmail.com.
