SPIEGEL IM SPIEGEL ▼ a multi-screen cinema journey by Vincent Moon
Thu 7 Sep 2023 6:00 AM - Sun 10 Sep 2023 CEST
Monopol Berlin, 13409
Description
Nomadic filmmaker Vincent Moon presents a unique cinema installation at Monopol - a non-stop three day ceremony in the spaces of an ex-distillery turned into a contemplative club, to trance and sleep amongst spirits.
Monopol Presents "Spiegel im Spiegel" – A 72-Hour Multiscreen Cinema Journey + the Living Laboratory performances of “Organysmo”.
From September 7th to 9th, Monopol will proudly host an unprecedented experience that will captivate the senses and stimulate the imagination.
STARTS: 7. September / 6am ▲ ENDS: 10. September / 6am
SPIEGEL IM SPIEGEL [mirror in the mirror] questions the divine in our images and sounds - merging the sacred and the strange, a modern hybrid gathering where ancient wisdom and experimental music align. 15 years of filming music, hundreds of rituals from all over the world, and 72 hours to see it all - over 3 huge screens, with images projected on the bunker’s walls - an optical ritual into the weird and the sacred.
SPIEGEL IM SPIEGEL is a collaboration between the art work and creative direction of Vincent Moon https://www.vincentmoon.com/ and Monopol https://www.instagram.com/monopolberlin/?hl=en
The first room will welcome an installation in collaboration with Pauline Fabry's Meteorite Gongs https://www.paulinefabry.de / the 'Sun chamber' will offer sound initiations, live performances & musical prayers going on at various moments of the exhibition. A portal into the universal dimensions of sound, an ongoing ceremony using gongs melted with meteorites from the volcano Etna.
The second room will present the awe-inspiring "Organysmo” experience by Led Pulse. Thursday and Friday the attendees will be able to join this living laboratory and the last days of a two months residency comprising 36 LED modules that emulate a living being through cutting-edge Neuronal-LED technology plus an immersive audio system of smart active monitors produced by Omni Soundlab where visual arts, music and technology will merge through live performances. On SATURDAY 9th at 21:00- 22:30 live performances will take place to showcase the results of this lab on this artistic marvel that blurs the lines between the organic and the digital, an exploration of the synthetic relationship between art and technology. https://www.organysmo.com/
The third room will be a large multi-screen installation, with selected works of Vincent Moon and the Petites Planètes' collection being displayed in a random, magical mode. For the past 15 years, Moon has been recording music performances around the world, mostly for his open-source internet archive "Collection Petites Planètes" (with some works in collaboration with french explorer Priscilla Telmon, especially around their brazilian project 'Híbridos' - www.hibridos.cc ). From researches into indigenous trance ceremonies and sacred music the world over, to more recent forays into contemporary / experimental sounds and dance performances, Moon has been pursuing the idea of 'psychedelic cinema' in documentary mode - elevating, through the use of his ‘dancing camera’, the film experience to a contemplative exploration of the soul. All films and recordings are available for free on https://www.vincentmoon.com and https://petitesplanetes.earth
The event runs for 72 hours from Thursday the 7th of September at 6am, until Sunday the 10th of September at 6am. The 3 rooms of the Monopol bunker will be activated, with various live performances appearing at specific times. The schedule of events will be released little by little here and on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/petites___planetes

Please get your FREE ENTRANCE by registering to the event.
