Thu 20 Sep 2018 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM BST
The Old Bakery Truro, TR1 1QH
Description
Ever taken the ferry to Roskoff and driven round Brittany? Noticed that many of the place names are the same as ones over here in Cornwall? There are strong cultural and artistic links between the peoples of Cornwall and Brittany and we are proud to be able to bring Dom Duff, the most exciting and innovative musician from Brittany, a folk hero in hiss native land, over to The Old Bakery Truro on Thursday Sept 20th, prior to his appearance at Looe Festival.
He spent his childhood in nearby bro Pagan (Pagan County), a coastal area by the Channel sea on the north-west coast of Brittany, close to Roscoff, and, like his parents, speaks breton language fluently. Crossing Breton influences, great guitar licks, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, words, rhythms & melody with folk/rock energy, Dom Duff creates a truly unique sound.
The winner of many awards in France and accolades in folk media, come on down on Sep 20th to experience the energy and wonder of Dom Duff's Power Folk.
