Ticket Tailor charity donations: How your ticket sales make a difference

Penny for the Planet has raised more than £650,000 since 2021. See Ticket Tailor’s charity donations by year and the causes your ticket sales support.

Every ticket sold through Ticket Tailor helps us give something back.

Through our Penny for the Planet initiative, we donate 1p for every ticket sold on our platform to environmental causes. And those pennies quickly add up!

Since launching Penny for the Planet in 2021, our community of Event Creators has helped us raise more than £650,000. Over the years, this money has supported rainforest protection, ocean conservation, peatland restoration, and rewilding projects.

And our giving doesn’t stop there. We also support local charities and humanitarian causes when we feel we can make a meaningful difference.

We’ll keep this page updated with our latest donation figures and stories from the organisations we support. So, if you’re curious about where those pennies go, you’re in the right place.

Our charity donations over the years

Our Penny for the Planet promise is pretty simple. The more tickets our Event Creators sell, the more we donate to our environmental charity partners.

Here’s how our giving has grown so far:

  • 2025: £75,780.86 raised through Penny for the Planet between January and July, taking the initiative past £650,000 since launch.
  • 2024: £180,317 raised through Penny for the Planet.
  • 2023: £166,245 donated across our environmental charity partners and other causes.
  • 2022: More than £140,000 donated during the year, doubling our 2021 giving.

Every one of these figures starts with the varied and wonderful events hosted by our Event Creators, from gigs and festivals to Santa’s grottos and school PTA events.

Here’s a closer look at where that money has gone.

2025: more than £75,000 raised by July

Between January and July 2025, ticket sales on Ticket Tailor generated £75,780.86 for our four environmental charity partners.

Rainforest Foundation UK received £17,878.22. Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Ocean Conservation Trust and Heal Rewilding each received £19,300.88.

By this point, Penny for the Planet had raised more than £650,000 since launching in 2021. It’s a figure we’re incredibly proud of, and one our Event Creators made possible. 🙌

2024: £180,317 raised through Penny for the Planet

2024 was our biggest Penny for the Planet year at the time, with £180,317 raised for our four environmental charity partners.

That included £33,990 in Q1, £33,799 in Q2, £39,795 in Q3 and £72,732 in Q4.

By the end of the year, Penny for the Planet had raised more than £435,000. More importantly, those donations were funding practical work on the ground.

They helped restore peatlands, protect seagrass, support rainforest communities, and bring more land back to nature.

2023: £166,245 donated

In 2023, we donated £166,245 across our environmental charity partners and a number of additional causes.

It was also the year we welcomed Heal Rewilding as our fourth Penny for the Planet partner. They joined Rainforest Foundation UK, Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Ocean Conservation Trust.

Alongside our environmental giving, we supported organisations including The Hellenic Initiative, Free to Be Kids, Bow Food Bank and Hackney Night Shelter.

2022: more than £140,000 donated

2022 was another big step forward for our giving. Over the year, we donated more than £140,000, around double our total from 2021.

In Q3 alone, £25,320 went to our three environmental partners at the time. We also donated £5,000 to the DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal.

Closer to home, we also supported Hackney Night Shelter through its Christmas fundraising appeal. You can read more about that further down.

Meet our Penny for the Planet charity partners

Our four Penny for the Planet partners tackle different parts of the climate and nature crisis. Here’s where your ticket sales are helping:

Rainforest Foundation UK

Rainforest Foundation UK works alongside Indigenous peoples and local communities to protect tropical rainforests and secure their rights to the land they live on.

Ticket Tailor donations have helped support technology that gives communities practical tools to monitor their forests and report suspected illegal activity.

One example comes from Cameroon, where alerts sent through RFUK’s ForestLink technology contributed to two logging companies having their permits suspended in 2023.

It’s a powerful example of where those pennies can lead: from tickets sold through Ticket Tailor to communities getting the tools they need to help protect the rainforest around them.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust

Cumbria Wildlife Trust protects wildlife and wild places across Cumbria, from peatlands and mountains to coastlines and seas.

Our donations have supported important peatland restoration work. Healthy peatlands lock away carbon, provide habitats for wildlife, and can reduce flood risk.

More recently, funding has supported work at Skiddaw in the Lake District National Park. Plans include restoring peatland, creating Atlantic rainforest, and improving upland habitats.

Our team has also visited Cumbria Wildlife Trust to volunteer and see this work first-hand!

Ocean Conservation Trust

Ocean Conservation Trust works to protect and restore the ocean while helping more people feel connected to it.

Our donations support its Blue Meadows programme, which protects, regenerates and restores seagrass meadows around the UK.

Seagrass provides vital habitats for marine life, stores carbon, and helps protect coastlines from erosion.

By 2024, the programme had protected 215 hectares of seagrass meadow and restored three hectares. It had also installed 74 meadow marker buoys and 14 advanced mooring systems.

Heal Rewilding

Heal Rewilding joined our Penny for the Planet partners in 2023. Its mission is straightforward: buy land and give it back to nature.

Our donations support work at Heal Somerset, its first rewilding site. Funding has helped with ecological surveys, habitat work, and improvements across the site.

It’s also helping create a Community Nature Barn, giving more people a welcoming place to experience and learn about the natural world.

Not forgetting that there are two Tamworth pigs helping with the rewilding effort, named Ticket and Tailor (naturally). We’re taking that as a career highlight. 😌

Giving beyond Penny for the Planet

Environmental giving sits at the heart of our programme, but there are moments when we want to support other causes too.

Sometimes that means responding to humanitarian crises. Other times, it means helping organisations doing important work in our own community.

We make these donations separately from Penny for the Planet, so our commitment to our environmental partners continues alongside them.

Supporting Hackney Night Shelter

Hackney Night Shelter has supported people experiencing homelessness in our local area since 1996.

In December 2022, we pledged to match donations to its Christmas fundraising appeal up to £25,000. The money was being raised to help the charity move into larger premises.

We supported the shelter again in 2023, donating £25,000 through another match-funding campaign. The wider appeal went on to raise £65,453.

Members of the Ticket Tailor team have also volunteered with the charity, helping with cooking, cleaning, serving dinner and spending time with guests.

Responding to humanitarian crises

We’ve also made one-off donations when communities have faced urgent humanitarian crises.

In 2022, we donated £5,000 to the DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal following devastating flooding across the country.

In 2023, we donated £2,500 to The Hellenic Initiative following widespread wildfires in Greece.

These donations sit outside Penny for the Planet, but they come from the same belief that businesses can choose to put their resources to good use.

Every ticket adds up

Giving back has been part of Ticket Tailor from the beginning, so seeing how much Penny for the Planet has grown means a lot to us.

We love hearing from our charity partners about the work they’re doing. And when we get the chance to visit and get stuck in ourselves, even better.

So, to every Event Creator who’s sold a ticket through Ticket Tailor: thank you. Your events are helping support real work to protect nature, support communities and restore important habitats.

And we’re not finished. We’ll keep updating this page with our latest donations, new impact stories and more from the brilliant organisations you’re helping us support.
