How your ticket sales are helping the planet: Our charity donations for 2024
2024 saw us raise a huge £180,317 through our Penny For The Planet initiative! Here's how your ticket sales are helping four amazing charities do incredible work.

Here at Ticket Tailor, we have a simple but powerful mission, which we like to refer to as ‘Growth on Purpose’. In a nutshell, we care deeply about balancing profit with purpose, and using our business as a force for good. That’s why we’ve been a certified B Corp since 2022. And why we donate 1p per every ticket sold through our platform to environmental causes. We call this initiative ‘Penny For The Planet’ (clever, huh 😎). And we’re incredibly proud to say that, in 2024, we raised…
A total of £180,317 ($223,457) for our four chosen charities, meaning we’ve raised over £435,000 so far through Penny For The Planet!
That’s pretty impressive, if we say so ourselves – although credit really lies with the amazing event creators who use our platform. It’s your ticket sales that generate these funds for our four chosen charities, which are: Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Heal Rewilding, Rainforest Foundation UK, and Ocean Conservation Trust. Cumbria Wildlife Trust
Cumbria Wildlife Trust is an inspiring wildlife conservation charity that works hard to restore wild places and put wildlife back into the land and seascapes of Cumbria. They work on a huge range of projects, from saving carbon-storing peatlands to protecting wildlife in the Irish Sea and working to reverse pollinator decline.
How Ticket Tailor donations are helping
Most recent Ticket Tailor donations have been helping Cumbria Wildlife Trust to restore Skiddaw in the Lake District National Park – England’s third highest mountain! This project includes:
- Creating Atlantic rainforest – creating a rich haven for lichens and mosses, and a home for upland birds, mammals and plants.
- Restoring peatlands – carrying out vital work to restore 992 acres of peatland to a healthy and functioning condition, so it can lock away carbon and reduce flood risk downstream.
- Improving heathland – recreating high-altitude scrub and alpine-like grassland across 120 acres to help return habitat that’s almost entirely absent from the English uplands.
- Safeguarding heritage – working to preserve the historic heritage and cultural importance of this iconic mountain.

Heal Rewilding
Heal Rewilding is an incredible initiative that is raising money to buy land and rewild it. And it’s a good job they are; the UK is one of the planet’s most nature-depleted countries, ranking 189th in the world for biodiversity. Heal’s mission is to help rectify this by rewilding land – in turn, creating spaces for wildlife to thrive, helping to combat climate change, and improving our population’s wellbeing. Impressive 💪.
How Ticket Tailor donations are helping
Ticket Tailor donations are currently going towards a range of projects at Heal Rewilding, which are all helping to re-wild all 460-acres of their first-ever site in Somerset. These include:
- Site surveys – baseline site surveys help Heal understand what is currently on site, which is vital to demonstrating the long-term impact of rewilding on biodiversity. Ticket Tailor donations have helped them carry out nine site surveys, with another 11 under way!
- Site interventions – some of Heal’s rewilding tasks include things like clearing fences, smashing up drainage systems, Willow planting and even introducing pigs to manage vegetation and enrich soil! Probably one of our proudest achievements ever is that, thanks to our donations, Heal now has two pigs called ‘Ticket’ and ‘Tailor’ 😌.
- The creation of a Community Nature Barn – a facility for hosting young people, families, and groups with additional needs all year-round. So communities have a safe, welcoming space to enjoy the benefits of nature.

Rainforest Foundation UK
Rainforest Foundation UK carries out vital work in protecting the planet’s rainforests, and empowering the communities that live in them. The destruction of rainforests releases more CO2 than all the world’s cars, planes and ships combined. But what many people don’t realise is that one of the most impactful ways of combating this is through empowering rainforests’ indigenous communities; to defend their territories, to challenge destructive industries, and to protect their environment.
How Ticket Tailor donations are helping
One of the ways Rainforest UK helps indigenous rainforest communities protect their land is through innovations in technology. Currently, Ticket Tailor donations are going towards the development of an exciting new tool called ForestEye. This helps with the precise analysis of local deforestation and will be incorporated into Rainforest UK’s existing ForestLink technology – a tool that helps rainforest communities monitor deforestation activity on the ground in the Congo Basin and Peru.

Ocean Conservation Trust
The Ocean Conservation Trust team is made up of dedicated marine biologists, educators, communicators, researchers, ecologists, oceanographers and divers – each one a self-acclaimed ‘Ocean Optimist’. The trust is on a mission to connect people with the sea and all it has to offer with the aim of promoting pro-ocean behaviour. Through inspiring ocean advocacy, and carrying out ground-breaking work, the Ocean Conservation Trust is helping to restore and protect vital ocean habitats.
How Ticket Tailor donations are helping
The Blue Meadows Approach is an Ocean Conservation Trust initiative that focuses on seagrass protection, regeneration and restoration at scale. Why? Because seagrass is ridiculously impressive stuff, serving as a natural shield against coastline erosion while also capturing carbon 35 times faster than rainforests! Ticket Tailor donations go towards this project specifically, which means your ticket sales have helped Ocean Conservation Trust to achieve these impressive numbers:
- 215 hectares of seagrass meadows protected
- 74 seagrass meadow marker buoys placed
- 3 hectares of seagrass meadows restored
- 14 advanced mooring systems created
- 4 blue meadow sites worked on
- 9700 people engaged with the initiative
